Nokia was THIS close to winning my affection with the Lumina 1020. The handset has the best camera hardware and software of any smartphone I’ve ever used. But it’s lack of a card slot, a weak sauce amount of on board memory and a pokey processor that’s getting a little long in the tooth keep the it from being great. Hopefully, Nokia will take a page from Apple and HTC’s books and look to an incremental upgrade of the hardware as opposed to a complete do-over. The 1020 needs juuuuuuust a little tweaking in order to be brilliant… as long as you can live with its Windows Phone 8 operating system.
