One of the most time-consuming tasks I perform for The Wirecutter has got to be curating the site's guide to water bottles. I test each for it's design, durability, usability, whether it leaks, whether it be easily washed and less obvious points such as how funky water tastes after leaving it inside the bottle for a few days, untouched (the answer to this is, without fail, terrible.) But as the guide is so popular and helps so many people, it's totally worth the amount of time and space in my office the sample take up.
While I occasionally add a few new bottles into the mix, the guide in its current form marks the first significant overhaul I've made to it in two years. No matter what your taste for a water bottle might be, there's likely something in the guide that will work for you.
