For this edition of Have Gear, Will Travel, I spent a week in Canmore Alberta, testing out a solid iOS navigation app called Gaia GPS. It offers hikers, campers and other outdoor enthusiasts a wide array of robust, easy to use tools that make navigating the great outdoors a whole lot less intimidating than many other apps and dedicated GPS devices I've used in the past. I love that it allows me to choose from a number of different topographical map sources and to mark waypoints on my Apple Watch. I loathe that, like most GPS apps, Gaia is an absolute battery hog.
For my take on what makes it worth installing on your phone, tablet or Apple Wearable, head on over to Macworld and read the review.
