I’ve spent God knows how many hours looming over burning coals, spreadsheets and talking to experts to figure out which charcoal grill will make the greatest number of people happy. At the end of each research cycle for the past three years, the answer has been the same: a Weber kettle grill.
This time around, my pick for the Best Charcoal Grill is the 22” Weber Original Kettle Grill Premium. Priced at $150, it’s the company’s mid-range kettle grill. It comes with a number of features that you’d miss if you were to buy Weber’s base model for $50 less, but without the unneeded frills that accompany the iteration that costs $50 more. What’s more, if you want to pimp out your Original Kettle Grill Premium at a later date, Weber makes it safe and easy to do so with a number of reasonably priced add-ons that are designed to work with the hardware.
