Winter boots! You needed these a few months ago, right? Well, it just so happens that would be exactly when this guide was posted to The Wirecutter. I've simply been remiss in recording it here on my site.
This is the second year that I've worked on this guide. This time around, the powers that be decided that I should break men's and women's boots out into two different guides. I couldn't agree more. One of the best things about a Wirecutter guide is how in-depth we get. One of the worst things about our guides is having to trudge through so much copy in order to get to the answer that you're after. Having two different guides on the topic makes a whole lot more sense.
If you want to find out what hours of research and testing in calf-deep Buffalo, New York snow drifts and wearing close to 20 pairs of boots in a negative temperature saltwater submersion vat will get you in terms of a decent pair of kicks, head on over to the Wirecutter where you'll find my men's and women's guides.
